The Solstice Singers was formed in 1992 under the guidance of the late Patricia Brown, and has been directed by Lore Loftfield DeBower of Woods Hole since 2000. A Cape Cod nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the arts throughout the Cape and beyond, the group’s primary mission is to provide community enrichment by sharing music and tradition of earlier times. Current members come from the towns of Falmouth, Bourne, Plymouth, and Middleboro.

The Solstice Singers music is enriched by children’s voices; the children are featured in solo pieces and also join the adults on several numbers. This year, three delightful young singers will charm the audience with their sweet voices and dramatic talents. Eleven-year old Sara Fisichella has lent her talents to the group since she was 6 years old, 13-year old Darias Frustaci-Ruzzo since he was four, and 17-year old Emily Brady since she was 11. The Solstice Singers welcomes children who are interested in singing and acting to join them in future performances. For information on joining the children’s chorus, email get-info @ solsticesingers . org.

Ensemble Passacaglia has joined the Solstice Singers in their performances for many years, playing lively instrumental pieces and accompanying the singers on authentic early instruments, with Jan Elliott of Woods Hole on recorders, krummhorn, and concertina, Tom Hanna of Sandwich on lute, Molly Johnston of Falmouth on viola da gamba, and Lisa Esperson of Falmouth on a variety of percussion instruments.

The Solstice Singers is grateful for the generous support received from The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod , the Falmouth Cultural Council , and the Woods Hole Foundation.
